A downloadable game for Windows

A vertical slice representation of a first person mech VR experience created by the MechaStomp Studios Adelaide team. 


Developed over 16 weeks with a student team of 8 team members at the Academy of Interactive Entertainment in 2019. Polypheme is a Virtual Reality mech game concept that aimed to combine explosive first-person mech combat with real-time strategy elements. This project is a representation and vertical slice of the original planned concept for this game. (Download provided below, a VR setup is necessary for the full experience)

 

Concept

You play as a lieutenant in charge of protecting Atlas, the last city pheme. After war and conflict tore your home planet apart, the last remnants of your people have banded together to survive and gather resources from the floating pieces of your planet and it's surrounding chunks of metal and earth. Polypheme's core game-play experience focuses around the player exploring and mastering the cockpit of a pheme. Once players have grown accustom to the experience they then can engage in combat and strategic decisions as they lead squads of AI phemes to engage the enemy. Resource management and basic tactical rts elements were planned for Polypheme and this current project showcases some of this.
